Why Be a Referee?

El Dorado Hills Soccer Club (EDHSC) trains and helps anyone interested in becoming a licensed referee.  Our club needs qualified referees to insure player safety and to promote play in accordance with the Laws of the Game.  No soccer game sanctioned by California Youth Soccer League can be played without a referee licensed by the United States Soccer Federation.  This means no EDHSC game can take place without a qualified referee. 

The El Dorado Hills Soccer Club will pay for the registration fee of $45.00 for the basic referee license.

EDHSC will sponsor Entry-Level Referee Courses. Referee courses are free to EDHSC members.

Neighboring leagues also hold courses that may be available for El Dorado Hills residents.  Contact Paul Etemad for more details.

El Dorado Hills  Soccer Club Referee Clinics
EDHSC  has two referee clinics.
Clinic #1 is June 10, 12, 17, 19th (M/W, M/W)
Clinic #2 is July 9, 11, 16, 18th (T/TH, T/TH)
 
* Sessions will have a maximum of 35 participants
** Field sessions - recommend you wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Please bring whistle and flags for this session . TBD.
Each clinic is 4 four-hour evening sessions, plus a 2 hour field session.  Attendance to all sessions is mandatory.
We will start taking reservations for each class NOW! 
 
When contacting Paul Etemad to register, please provide to him with the following:
 - Name of registrant
 - Address
 - Phone
 - Birthdate
 - Email and Alternate email (parents / spouse) if approrpiate
 - FOSC relationship (player, coach, parent, other, none)
 - Clinic start date preference

How to sign up for games:

We have a large number of games to cover every week during the season. If you are a currently licensed referee and like to do games for the El Dorado Hills Soccer Club, send me an email to Paul Etemad. In your email request please include the following:
  • First and Last Name
  • Age
  • Referee Grade
  • Referee Experience
    • Number of games refereed so far?
    • Number of U16 and 19 refereed?
    • Number of games U12 and U14 refereed?
  • Coaching experience? # of yrs? Licenses?
  • Experience as a Player? Age group you may be playing in rec or select?
  • Your preference (Select, Rec, Age Group, Center, Line, etc.)?
